How to use Intrinsic

Last updated: 2 September 2026

1. Getting started

Intrinsic is your personal wealth-tracking dashboard. Once you sign in you land on the Dashboard, which shows your total portfolio value, invested cost, gain/loss, projected annual dividends and 24-hour performance across all linked accounts.

To start tracking, you have three options — use any combination of them:

  • Link a broker via SnapTrade to sync holdings, transactions, dividends and cash automatically.
  • Import a statement from a supported broker (e.g. eToro) to bring in past trades and dividends.
  • Add holdings manually using the + button in the top bar or on any account page.

2. Connecting your broker

The fastest way to populate your portfolio is to connect your brokerage account through SnapTrade, a secure read-only bridge between your broker and Intrinsic.

  • Open the + quick-action button in the top bar and choose Link brokerage.
  • Select your broker from the list — you'll be redirected to your broker's secure login.
  • After authorising, Intrinsic imports your positions, balances, recent trades and dividend payments.
  • Use Sync broker on the Dashboard at any time to pull the latest data.

We never see or store your broker credentials, and the connection is read-only — Intrinsic cannot place trades or move money.

3. Adding holdings manually

If you prefer not to link a broker, or want to track an account that isn't supported, you can add holdings by hand.

  • Tap the + button in the top bar and select Add holding.
  • Choose the account, enter the ticker (e.g. AAPL) or crypto symbol, the number of units and the total cost.
  • For non-USD assets, the native currency cost is stored automatically so conversions stay accurate regardless of FX moves.

4. Importing statements & CSV files

You can back-fill your trade and dividend history by importing files exported from your broker.

  • eToro statements — Upload your eToro account statement to import closed and open positions with cost basis.
  • Transaction CSV — Import a CSV of buy/sell transactions to build a complete trade history for FIFO realised P&L.
  • Dividend CSV — Import a CSV of dividend payments (with withholding tax) so your income totals are accurate.

Import logs are recorded under Portfolio → Transactions so you can see what was brought in and when.

5. The Dashboard

The Dashboard is your home screen. It shows a summary of every account combined, plus a per-account breakdown.

  • Portfolio Summary — total value, total invested, overall gain/loss with a tooltip breaking it down into capital gains, realised P&L and dividends.
  • Account cards — tap any account to drill into its holdings, transactions and performance.
  • Top movers — your best and worst performing positions over the last 24 hours.
  • Weekly events — upcoming ex-dividend and payment dates for your holdings.

6. Using the account filter

If you have more than one account, use the account selector in the top bar to view the Dashboard, holdings and performance for a single account, or All accounts for the consolidated view.

7. Searching for stocks

Use the search icon in the top bar to find any stock or crypto by name or ticker. Selecting a result opens the Stock Detail page with live prices, fundamentals, dividend history and valuation charts.

8. Portfolio tab

The Portfolio tab is organised into sub-sections:

  • Holdings — every position with units, cost, market value, daily change and P&L. Expand a row to see individual purchase lots. Toggle between USD and the holding's native currency.
  • Returns — capital gains, dividends received and realised P&L per holding, calculated using FIFO lot matching. Toggle Show sold positions to see fully closed trades.
  • Dividend history — every dividend payment received, filterable by account and date range.
  • Transactions — your full trade history, filterable by type, symbol and date.
  • Watchlist — track stocks you're considering, with optional target prices and saved valuations.
  • Goals — set an income or portfolio target and project how long it will take to reach it.

9. Performance tab

The Performance tab tracks how your portfolio has grown over time:

  • Growth — a time-weighted portfolio value chart from inception. Use the range selector (1M, 3M, 6M, YTD, 1Y, Max) to focus on a period. Returns use Modified Dietz math so deposits and withdrawals don't distort percentages.
  • Diversification — breakdowns by sector, asset class, country and holding, shown as pie and bar charts.
  • Dividends — dividend income over time, by month and year, with year-on-year comparisons.

10. Dividends

Beyond the Performance tab, dedicated dividend pages give you forward visibility:

  • Upcoming dividends — ex-dividend and payment dates for your holdings in the weeks ahead.
  • Projected income — your estimated annual dividend income based on forward rates and expected payment frequency.

11. Valuation tools

The Valuation page and each Stock Detail page provide fundamental analysis tools to help you estimate what a stock is worth.

  • DCF (Discounted Cash Flow) — project future free cash flow and discount it back to today to estimate intrinsic value per share.
  • Reverse DCF — work backwards from the current share price to see what growth rate the market is pricing in.
  • Historical P/E — see how a stock's price-to-earnings ratio has moved over time to gauge whether it's cheap or expensive relative to its history.
  • Dividend Discount Model (DDM) — value a dividend-paying stock based on the present value of its expected future dividends.

Save a valuation to a watchlist item to compare it against the live price over time.

12. Stock detail pages

Tap any holding or search result to open its detail page. Here you'll find live and historical prices, key statistics, financial statements, dividend history, your own position in that stock, and the valuation tools above.

13. Quick actions

The + button in the top bar is your shortcut to add a holding, link a brokerage, import a statement, or jump to valuation.

14. Dark & light theme

Toggle between light and dark mode using the sun/moon icon in the top bar. Your preference is remembered across sessions.

15. Managing your account

Tap the profile icon in the top bar to open your settings. From here you can sign out or permanently delete your account and all associated data.

Subscription billing is handled by Paddle. You can upgrade or cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your current billing period.
